Our Holistic Approach
The mouth is a window to the body. Each person’s mouth provides a view into a patient’s holistic health and well being. Many oral health conditions can lead to systemic disease, meaning it can affect the biological systems of the body as a whole.
The opposite can also be true. Dysfunction and disease in the biological systems of the body can affect the health of the oral cavity. At Apollonia Dental, we look forward to being able to offer many bio-functional techniques and services to our patients. We work with you to improve your oral health and therefore improve your overall, holistic health.
Our Key Services
At Apollonia Dental, we offer more than your standard cleaning. We have an array of holistic health oriented services created to treat your oral health in entirety, taking all your individual needs into consideration.
Our key services include…
Ceramic Dental Implants
As a metal-free dental provider, we offer ceramic dental implants. Ceramic dental implants are a modern, biocompatible alternative made from high-quality zirconia (Zirconium Dioxide). These implants are not only strong and durable but also blend seamlessly with natural teeth, offering an aesthetically pleasing result. Unlike metal implants, ceramic implants are non-corrosive and more resistant to bacteria buildup, making them an ideal choice for patients who are sensitive to metals or concerned about the long-term effects of metal in the body. Ceramic implants provide a natural look and feel, offering a reliable and safe solution for those needing dental replacements.
In our office, we use SDS implants. Dr. Dunnington is trained in ceramic implant surgery by Swiss Biohealth.
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
PRF is a cutting-edge technique used in surgical procedures, including tooth extractions, dental implants and TMJ treatments. We take your blood and concentrate the platelets and growth factors to promote faster healing and tissue regeneration in a natural way. This biocompatible material is applied to the surgical site to reduce inflammation, improve tissue regeneration, and enhance your body’s natural healing process, ensuring optimal recovery and better long-term results.
Laser Dentistry
Laser dentistry offers a precise and minimally invasive alternative to traditional dental treatments, and we love it here in our office. Lasers can be used for a variety of dental procedures, including extractions, filling preparation, gum therapy, and soft tissue surgeries. The benefits of laser treatment include tissue sterilization, reduced pain, faster recovery times, and increased accuracy. With laser dentistry, we’re able to perform many procedures with greater precision and less discomfort, making it an excellent option for both preventive and restorative dental care.
There are variations of Fotana lasers that we use to help you, including these world renowned lasers:
Dental Ozone
Dental ozone therapy is an innovative treatment that uses the power of ozone gas (O3) to support your oral health and treat infections. Dental ozone has natural antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties that can be used to disinfect and heal various oral conditions. It can be applied to the teeth, gums, and other oral tissues to reduce inflammation, treat gum disease, and eliminate harmful bacteria, all while promoting faster healing. Dental ozone is often used as a preventive measure, providing an additional layer of protection against oral diseases and enhancing the body’s natural healing capabilities.
Oral Microscopy
Oral microscopy involves taking a sample of your gingival crevicular fluid or saliva and examining it under a microscope. This allows us to observe the microbes present in your oral microbiome, including specific bacteria that can indicate whether you have oral disease and what type. By assessing these bacteria, we can diagnose potential issues such as gum disease or infection, and evaluate the overall health of your oral cavity, providing you with a more accurate and targeted treatment plan.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
CBCT is a 3D imaging technology that provides a comprehensive view of your teeth, bones, and soft tissues of your mouth and jaw. This imaging tool is used to accurately diagnose bone infections and other dental issues that can’t be fully assessed with traditional X-rays. By capturing images from multiple angles, CBCT allows for a deeper, more precise evaluation, helping us to plan treatments with greater accuracy, whether for implants, extractions, or other complex procedures.
Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal
Dr. Dunnington is S.M.A.R.T. Certified, which means she has been trained in the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique. This ensures that if you have a metal filling that needs to be replaced, our removal process follows strict safety protocols to protect your health.
